Save The Connexions Service

Save the Connexions Service Now! The Connexions service has been targetted for up to 50% cuts in funding leading to mass redundancies. The impact of this on a service that was created for and with young people is devastating. Young people helped to create this service but have had no say in dismantling it - their voice needs to be heard too.

Connexions  personal advisers and careers advisers have relentlessly worked hard and met Government targets to reduce the levels of unemployment and increase the take up of college and training places. The service provides access to advisers in schools, colleges, centres and other community venues who provide free, confidential information, advice and guidance in a range of aspects that affect the lives of young people, and work with other agencies to ensure barriers to education and employment and life chances are minimised by making timely referrals and advocating for the young people.

The advisers carry out Local Authority statutory requirements for the provision of information, advice and guidance and for the continued assessment and review of young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to ensure their rights to appropriate support in education, training & funding.
All young people have a designated personal adviser as & when required and all young people continue to have a right to this and in helping to shape their own services. This right is threatened.

Please sign the petition and invite all your family and friend to do so too.
